Note me
I had a very interesting night last night. I was a volunteer at the event known as Rags to Wags which is the Austin Humane Society biggest single fund raiser for this year. It was a lot of fun but also a huge overload of stimuli for both man and beast. My dog to care of for the night was a little Chihuahua mix, aptly named Wiggles. I spent the bulk of the night trying to get her to calm down. I walked her, I played with her and I finally tried the "crate the dog" method. This was by far the least effective. Then her foster family showed up and got her really riled up, to the point that the crate was shaking. I also got to play with lots of very nice big and little dogs. The actual doggy fashion show was a hoot. The shelter dogs all had rhinestone collars and bright red leashes with big bows on. The dogs who's owners volunteered them for the show had actual costumes on. The most amusing one, at least for me, was a lovely Pit-bull named Hope. She was in a wedding dress with a veil that both me and her human thought was too long. Her "groom" was a little Pomeranian. It was such a funny pairing. The models who walked the dog for the fashion show were an interesting mix of actual models and local celebrities. The whole event was really something else.
I also got to transport one of the dogs back to the shelter. The dog was a Border-Collie mix who, while totally wond up at the show, prompt fell asleep in my front seat as soon as we left the hotel parking lot. I also got to play with the kittens who were there once I got the Border-Collie dog settled into his new adoption area cage.
No one got adopted last night but that was by design, I think the logistics involved would have been a nightmare to do so. Hopefully lots of people come to the shelter today and take every dog and cat from the show home.

"A sincere artist is not one who makes a faithful attempt to put on to canvas what is in front of him, but one who tries to create something which is, in itself, a living thing."
William Dobell
I'm sorry your prize is taking so long. I didn't hit my target date because I lost my Photoshop and it put me two weeks behind schedule. I've been pretty lame, and putting things off to work on other projects... I'm really trying to improve my turnaround speed, and prioritize the more important projects, like your gift-art. I've made some real progress now, and it should be finished in a few days... For realz this time!

How did you loose your Photoshop, dare I ask? It happens, more interesting things sometimes get in the way.
When you are done, I would like a copy emailed to me (moongara_blackwolf@yahoo.com) I want to be able to get a print at my local print shop.

You're going to make a print? Dang! I guess I should email my photoshop sketch to you to make sure it's exactly what you want! I'll try and get that to you tomorrow night. (Probably late tomorrow night though.) I'm still at the stage where if there's something you want changed, it shouldn't be a big deal to make it happen.

Take a look at [link] for some references that I have added since I sent you that description.
I will be interested to see the sketch. My email is moongara_blackwolf@yahoo.com
I think you're just going to have to look at what I've got and tell me what you want changed. I'm confident I can create something you'll find acceptable though.

Man listens better to the message of the stars than to the message of the desert. The stars speak of his insignificance in the long eternity of time. The desert speaks of his insignificance RIGHT NOW.
